Dress Code Policy
Our dress code provides an opportunity for students to show pride in their school by wearing Pryor t-shirts and sweatshirts. Pryor’s dress code is the same for males and females. Monday through Friday, students should wear Pryor tops and approved bottoms as stated below. Students may wear other shirts or sweatshirts under approved Pryor gear. Pryor attire must always be visible.
Pryor shirts include those approved for athletics and clubs and are in accordance with Pryor and the School District Dress Code Policy. Pryor shirts may not be altered in style (e.g. side seams cut and then tied, knotted on the side or back, marked on, or excessively damaged).
-
Any non-Pryor outerwear must be removed when a student arrives at school.
-
Pants, shorts, or skirts must cover undergarments and be worn at waist level. Pajama pants are NOT permitted.
-
If a student is out of dress code, he/she will be given an opportunity to change into approved clothing. If the student does not comply, parents or guardians will be contacted to bring appropriate clothing. Students will not be allowed to return to class until they are in the dress code.
Pryor does NOT allow the following items:
-
Inappropriate advertising, slogans, or jewelry that represents gangs, alcohol, sexual references, racial connotations, guns, violence, drugs, tobacco, or other inappropriate pictures/slogans on shirts, pants, hats, or other clothing.
-
Any sheer/see-through clothing
-
Any clothing which shows midriff or undergarments
-
No hoodies, hats or other head coverings are permitted. If a student is wearing any head gear, it will be confiscated and returned to parent or guardian only.
-
Chains from pants are not permitted.
-
Sunglasses, bedroom slippers, pajama pants, blankets, bandanas
When the temperature outside is 50° or lower, students may wear heavy winter coats on the ramps, but they must be removed when indoors.
SPECIAL EVENTS DRESS CODE
Students may be allowed to be out of normal dress code for special events, themed activities, dances, sports, and pep rallies. These events will be announced to students, parents, and staff in advance. Students choosing not to participate in the scheduled activity must be dressed in the approved Pryor uniform.
